On December 9, 2016, Class #30 of the Goodwill Industries Construction Training graduated nine students. The program, part of the Nashville Construction Readiness Partnership, is a six week course where students learn the core foundation of working in the construction industry. Everything from working with various tools to workplace safety and soft skills are covered in the course. Students graduate from the program with their NCCER (National Center for Construction Education & Research) Certification.
Students shared stories of their time in the class including what they learned not only about construction, but about themselves. Instructor Tim Kahn provided the graduates with additional words of wisdom and shard a motivational TED talk video to inspire the grads as they embark on their new careers in construction.
